Day1: Shanghai
Upon arrival you will be met by your English-speaking guide at Shanghai International Airport and transferred to your hotel. You will have the day free to explore this exciting city. (Please note that check-in time is after 12:00 p.m.)

Day 2: Shanghai
This morning visit Yu yuan Garden, a classical Chinese garden in the heart of Shanghai's Old City. After exploring Yuyuan's pavilions, fanciful rock formations, winding paths, and courtyards, it's time to plunge into the Old City's bustling streets and lanes where temples, small shops and family homes weave a lively tapestry.

Evening optional program:  Acrobatics Show-featuring the talents of some of China's most skilled acrobats

Day 3:  Shanghai-Beijing by train
Your monring is free ti explore Shanghai before boarding your overnight train service from Shanghai to Beijing (hard sleeper).

Day 4: Beijing
Upon your arrival into Beijing you will be transfered to your hotel. You will have the day free to explore Beijing, enjoy some shopping or try one of the many local restaurants.

Day 5: Beijing
Today travel by coach to The Great Wall, one of the Seven wonders in the world. The Great Wall was built originally to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups. Several walls have been built since the 5th century BC that are referred to collectively as the Great Wall, which has been rebuilt and maintained from the 5th century BC through the 16th century. One of the most famous is the wall built between 220–206 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Little of that wall remains; the majority of the existing wall was built during the Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall, is one of the few objects on earth visible from space!

Day 6: Beijing-Xian by train
The day begins with a visit to Tian'anmen Square, the political and symbolic center of modern day China. Following this, you will have a photo stop at Beijing Grand Theater (outside) which is known affectionately as "the Egg," its shining dome and graceful curves make it one of the most impressive buildings in the city. Then visit the vast complex of courtyards and chambers within the Forbidden City, the ancient seat of imperial power, rounds off the morning. In the afternoon you will enjoy a Hutong Tour before boarding your overnight train to Xi’an (hard sleeper).

Day  7:  Xian
On arrival in Xi’an, your local guide/ driver will transfer you to your hotel. This morning, explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was originally built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and also the Grand Mosque and the distinctive Muslim Quarter. (taking public bus or bicycle tour )

Evening optional program: Tang Dynasty show.

Day  8:  Xi’an-Chengdu by train
Upon arrival into Xi’an you will be transferred to your hotel. Today you will explore the Terracotta Warriors in the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qinshihuang. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century.  It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China.

This afternoon you will board your overnight train from Xi’an to Chengdu (hard sleeper).

Day  9: Chengdu-Leshan-Emeishan
Upon your arrival into Chengdu you will explore the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Chengdu Panda Base is a non-profit organization engaged in wildlife research, captive breeding, conservation education, and educational tourism.

Before reaching Emeishan, we travel to Leshan where you will enjoy the countryside views of the Chuanxi Plain and do some sightseeing  at the Leshan Giant Buddha. The Leshan Giant Buddha was built during the Tang Dynasty (618–907). It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers in the southern part of Sichuan province in China, near the city of Leshan. Here you will board a tour boat which has a panoramic view of the biggest carved Buddha statue in the world.

Day 10: Emeishan-Chengdu
After breakfast, travel by bus to do some sightseeing in Emeishan. You will explore Wannian Temple, one of the most ancient temples on the Emei Mountain. Situated with 1,020 meters elevation on the Emei Mountain, expereince some hiking to Qingyin Pavilion and down the zigzag stone trails before visiting Emeishan Museum.

Later you will travel to Chengdu.

Day 11: Chengdu-Chongqing by train
This morning after breakfast you will transfer to the train station to catch your train from Chengdu to Chongqing (hard seat). Upon your arrival into Chongqing you will do some sightseeing to Erling Park to take in the breathtaking views of Chongqing and Yangtze River. You will visit the Chongqing People’s Grand Hall before transferring to the pier to board the Yangtze Cruise Ship.

Day 12-13: Yangtze Cruise

Day 14: Yichang
Upon arrival into Yichang you will transfer to hotel. Today is free to explore Yichang. Why not  visit The Three Gorges Dam Project. It is one of the great wonders of modern human history and it has become a tourist hot spot of the world. There is an abundant of natural resources and historical sites including Mountains, waterfalls, caves, stone forests and pools form picturesque scenes. There are many natural reserves in or around the city, including Chaibuxi National Forest Park and Houhe Natural Reserve.

Day 15: Yichang-Shanghai by train
After breakfast we spend the morning exploring the Yichang Museum which has a collection of more than 30,000 pieces of cultural relics. You will explore Yiling Square which  lies in the city center of Yichang. Later in the afternoon you will transfer to the train station for your overnight train from Yichang to Shanghai (hard sleeper).

Remarks: In the case of the late arrival of the cruise into Yichang which often occurs, you will need to spend an additional night in Yiching and depart on the train the following day.
