Full Itinerary
We set off from Hobart at 8:00am, and make our way up the summit road to the peak of Mt Wellington! As we gain height, the views of Hobart city below are incredible. When we reach the summit, we take the time to enjoy the stunning panorama that (in good weather) allows us to see as far as the World Heritage Area of the South-West National Park.

After our descent back down the mountain, we follow the Derwent River west of Hobart into the stunning Derwent Valley. Here the landscape is dotted with oast houses, poplars, vineyards and hop farms. Hear the stories of beer brewing and hop farming for which this area is famous. We make a stop at New Norfolk to pick up some lunch and wander the streets of this historic town.

We then head further west to Mt Field National Park for a quick stop at the Visitor Centre, before we drive to the stunning alpine landscape of Lake Dobson. If the weather permits, we take a walk by Lake Dobson to the Pandani Grove circuit, which introduces the plant-life of this region and the fascinating history of early visitors to Mt Field.

After returning to the Visitor Centre, we walk amongst tall tree ferns to Russell Falls, perhaps the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania. After plenty of photos, we head to Horseshoes Falls and onto the Tall Trees Walk. Here we are given the chance to wander beneath the tallest hardwood trees in the world.

To finish our very Tasmanian tour, we take you to Something Wild wildlife sanctuary, where we enjoy a one-hour personally guided tour. Get up close to Tassie Devils, wallabies, possums, wombats and more! After an action-packed day, we return to your Hobart accommodation.
