Thailand's northern capital is a captivating blend of ancient temples, modern malls, steamy rainforest and teeming markets, and you can experience it all on this action-packed active adventure. Tackle the Mae Taeng River rapids on a raft, ride an elephant through the rainforest, climb the naga-guarded staircase of hilltop Doi Suthep and cycle through rural countryside en route to the enchanting ruins of Wiang Kum Kam - the physical activity and timeless sights on this trip are sure to leave you breathless.

Day 1 Chiang Mai
Swim a few laps in the hotel pool or head out on foot to explore chilled-out Chiang Mai.

Day 2 Chiang Mai Biking
Cycle through green fields, following the Ping River downstream. Call in at a former leper colony, now a rehabilitation centre, to gain insight into the activities of missionaries in the days of old. Continue on to discover the real rural Thailand, cruising past orchards and farms. Meander through small villages and explore the temple ruins of Wiang Kum Kam, the former capital of Lanna, on the way back into town. After a break, head off to visit the temple complex of Doi Suthep to listen to the evening chanting provided by the resident Buddhist monks.

Day 3 Chiang Mai Rafting, Biking and Elephant Riding
Ride an elephant through the jungle, visit some villages, jump onto a mountain bike and tackle dirt roads to get to the picnic lunch spot. After refuelling, it's time to raft down the Mae Taeng River and its 14 gorges. With rapids ranging from grade 3 to 5, this is some of Asia's finest white water rafting.

Day 4 Chiang Mai
With a famous night bazaar and over 300 temples to explore, there's always something to see and do in this cosmopolitan capital of the north.
